PEORIA, Ill. – A fire in Peoria’s East Bluff early Friday morning is under investigation.
Peoria Fire crews arrived at the home between Archer and McClure near Wisconsin Ave. just after 4:30 A.M. to find heavy smoke showing from a single-story garage.
They then discovered a fire in the kitchen area and its contents on fire, putting the fire under control within ten minutes.
The home’s sole occupant was outside the house when fire crews arrived, and a puppy was found in the kitchen. The Red Cross was notified to provide housing for the person.
A fire investigator and the department’s arson dog was brought in to investigate.
Fire and smoke damage occurred throughout the entire home, with estimates at around $40,000.
There were no injuries.
